A Beautiful Equestrian Senior Session at Star 4 Equestrian

Some clients become part of your story over time, and Bria Ames is definitely one of those people for me.

I have photographed Bria many times over the years, and she has been in front of my camera for all kinds of sessions. From portraits with the Equestrians of Color Project, to a cover image for Western Life Today, to helping model at Florida photography workshops, and even stepping in when I needed someone to model horse tack for brands, Bria has always been someone I can count on. She is always game, easy to work with, and brings her big laugh and smile to every session.

So getting to photograph Bria’s equestrian senior portraits felt especially meaningful to me.

We started her senior portrait experience with hair and makeup by Kira Normand of Onsite Muse, which gave everything such a polished start to the evening. I mean, who does not love a little glam before stepping in front of the camera? From there, we met at Star 4 Equestrian on a beautiful sunny evening with the prettiest light to work with.

Bria wore two looks for her session, and both suited her so well. The first was a casual western outfit that felt natural and true to her style. Her second look was a soft white sundress that added a more whimsical feel while still being practical enough for sitting on her horse comfortably. One of the things I loved about this setup was how easily she could throw her cap and gown over the dress to change up the look without needing a full outfit switch. It gave us great variety while keeping everything simple and smooth.

For her portraits, Bria was photographed with one of her favorite horses at Star 4 Equestrian, Mothman. He was the perfect boy and showed off his goofy personality throughout the session. Senior portraits are about celebrating this season of life, but for horse girls who choose to include a horse that means something to them, the images become even more special. Equestrian senior sessions preserve this chapter in a way that reflects who someone is right now, and for many horse girls, that story is not complete without a horse involved.

After her session, Bria and her family worked with me to design a beautiful album filled with her favorite images. They also selected prints for self-framing and gifting to friends and family, graduation announcements, along with one larger mounted print for her bedroom wall.

Photographing Bria over the years has been such a joy, and being the one to create her senior portraits felt like a full-circle moment. It has been so fun watching her grow, and I am so thankful I got to help celebrate this milestone with her. I cannot wait to photograph her college graduation portraits next.

If you are looking for equestrian senior portraits in Florida and want images that feel personal, polished, and true to this time in your life, I would love to help you create something you will love.
