Capturing Lily’s Love of Horses Before Heading Off to College

A Chapter in a Horse Girls Life Closes at Sunset

In the peaceful fields of Peak Performance Horses located in St. Augustine, FL, I had the privilege of capturing a pivotal moment for Lily, a young woman about to embark on her college journey at FSU, leaving behind her favorite lesson horses. As a passionate equestrian, Lily has spent countless hours in the company of two horses, Willow and Murphy, forging bonds and learning lessons about life that go beyond the pasture.

Our session was set against the backdrop of a stunning sunset by a scenic pond, offering a serene setting to celebrate Lily’s transition from high school to studying mechanical engineering in college. Lily’s connection with Willow, a fancy little Chestnut, and Murphy, a truly gentle guy, speaks volumes of her dedication and love for the equestrian life.

Lily, with the encouragement of her mother Lisa, sought to immortalize her passion and the significant role horses have played in her life so far. It was crucial to document this chapter, acknowledging the shift her life is about to take as she steps into a new environment where horses might not be as present.

Capturing Lily’s bond with her horses was at the heart of our session. Every laugh shared, every tender moment between them was caught in the soft glow of the setting sun, creating images that tell a story of friendship, growth, and change.

The highlight of our collaboration was creating a unique keepsake for Lily - a fluted wooden box adorned with her favorite image from the session on the top and printed in 8x10 images on the inside. This keepsake stands as a testament to the memories and lessons learned with Willow and Murphy.

This session was more than a photoshoot; it was a celebration of the journey Lily has embarked upon with her equine partners. As Lily prepares for her next chapter at FSU, these images serve as a reminder of the bonds that shape us, the friendships that support us, and the memories that guide us forward.

At Fast Horse Photography, I am dedicated to capturing these significant moments, offering a full-service experience that goes beyond the camera. My goal is to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience, creating art that celebrates the unique stories of equestrian life across NE Florida.

As Lily steps into her future, I’m reminded of the powerful connections we share with our animal companions and the impact they have on our lives. Here’s to new beginnings, cherished memories, and the enduring love between a girl and her horses. I know she will come back to horses one day and wish her the very best college life has to offer!
