Featured in Chrome Magazine: Talking Walls and the Power of Equine Art
It was such an honor to be interviewed for the Winter 2024 edition of Chrome Magazine, the official publication of Mule Alley at the Fort Worth Stockyards. The article, written by Amy Witt and titled Talking Walls, explores how the spaces inside our homes can tell stories through equine art, portrait photography, and meaningful pieces collected from the horse world.
The subheading says it all, “The walls inside your home can help share your unique tale, evoke a mood and reflect your flair.” That’s the heart of what I do through equine photography.
This article dives into how horse lovers can create gallery walls that feature equestrian portraits, fine art horse photography, tack, ribbons, and other sentimental items from life with horses. Whether it’s a single bold portrait or a full wall of coordinated frames, the goal is to surround yourself with images and items that reflect the life you love.
It was especially meaningful to be featured alongside my good friend and fellow equine photographer, Betsy Bird of Ride the Sky Equine Photography. Sharing this with a colleague I admire made the experience even more special.
I was also proud to have one of my images included in the magazine. The featured photograph shows local equestrian Ava Mariotti with her horse Roland, who is part of the Peak Performance Horses family. Roland is a striking Overo Paint and is also Deaf, which makes his connection with Ava even more powerful. Including their portrait in this national publication was not just exciting, it was important.
One of my biggest goals at Fast Horse Photography is to help my clients gain recognition for the love and work they pour into their horses. When opportunities come up to feature them in national equine magazines, I’m always going to advocate for their stories to be seen and celebrated.
