Red Dresses and Ranch Horses: Lydia's Day with Her Horse Whiskey

Set in St. Augustine, FL, at Ash N' Oaks Stable, I had the pleasure of capturing Lydia and her Texas cow horse, Whiskey in a photography session that was both vibrant and intimate. This day was set apart by Lydia's stunning choice of attire and the natural beauty of our green Florida backdrop.

Lydia chose the most gorgeous red dress for the session, paired with a western cowboy hat and boots. This look gave her a glamorous yet rustic cowgirl appeal, and beautifully reflected her rosie personality and complemented Whiskey's ranch horse roots.

Joining Lydia and Whiskey were her boyfriend, Tyler, and their extremely well-trained German Sheppard dog, Lady. Including them in the session gave us an opportunity to create a really sweet family portrait that they could share with their friends and family in time for the holidays.

The true focus of this session was on the deep bond between Lydia and Whiskey, and the celebration of them coming into each others lives.

During the session we also had an opportunity to create a few equine studio portraits of Whiskey in the barn alleyway at Ash N. Oaks Stable. He was a perfect gentleman and seemed to enjoy being the star of the show for a few minutes!

This session with Lydia, Whiskey, Tyler, and Lady exemplifies the essence of my work: capturing the beauty of the equestrian life and the connections that define it.
