Fast Horse Photography Featured on Two Covers of Western Life Today

Well this has been a pinch me kind of year. I’m beyond excited to share that Fast Horse Photography was featured on two covers of Western Life Today magazine—and I’m still not over it.

The Winter 2024 cover showcases an image I created during one of our photography adventures at C Lazy U Ranch with Cowgirls with Cameras, featuring wrangler Michelle Ried and her horse, Breeze. That session was full of Colorado mountain air, frosty muzzles, and the kind of working horsewoman grit that I love capturing.

Then, in October 2024, I had the absolute honor of seeing another one of my images on the October cover—this time featuring Bria Ames and her horse Beans, photographed right here in St. Augustine, FL at Star 4 Equestrian. This issue also included a beautiful feature story on Bria and her journey as a young equestrian, which made the entire thing even more special.

It’s always been my mission at Fast Horse Photography to create images that celebrate the connection between horse and human in an honest, artful, and meaningful way. To see these moments land on the covers of a national publication like Western Life Today is incredibly rewarding—not just for me, but for the horsewomen whose stories are now being shared far and wide.

I’m so grateful to the team at Western Life Today for seeing something in these moments and choosing to highlight them. And thank you to Michelle, Breeze, Bria, and Beans for being the incredible subjects behind the covers.

You can learn more about my work at FastHorsePhotography.com and see what it’s like to create your own unforgettable equestrian portraits—whether you’re riding across the mountains of the west or just down the road right here in NE Florida.
