Kendall’s Equestrian Senior Portrait Session with Sol at Allys Acres

Some senior sessions are about more than marking a graduation year. They are also about holding onto a chapter that has meant so much while it was being lived. That was very much the case for Kendall’s equestrian senior portrait session with Sol.

Kendall has been riding at Allys Acres in St. Augustine, Florida for several years, and for her session, it was important to create portraits that reflected how much Sol and Allys Acres have meant to her over that time. Anyone who has loved a horse like that understands it is never just about having photos taken. It is about holding onto this moment before everything changes.

For her session, Kendall wore a cute floral summer dress for some of her portraits, which gave the session a soft and sweet feel. She also changed into her favorite riding clothes for a more realistic vibe. We created images of Kendall riding Sol in the arena at the barn, which made the final collection feel true to her experience with him.

I always love when senior sessions include both a polished portrait look and the more personal side of a rider’s everyday life with their horse. It feels honest and true to who they are in this season of life.

After her session, Kendall and her mother chose some really special pieces to enjoy from their images. One of my favorites was a huge soft blanket featuring Sol that Kendall can take with her when she moves away from home. I love that idea because it gives her something comforting and familiar to bring along for the next chapter. They also selected several mounted prints for self-framing, along with a beautiful acrylic block for her mom’s desk at work.

That is one of the things I love most about equestrian senior portraits. They become artwork and keepsakes that stay with you long after graduation is over.

It was such a pleasure to photograph Kendall and create these portraits with Sol at Allys Acres. Sessions like this are always a reminder that the horses who carry us through our growing-up years leave a mark that lasts far beyond the barn. I know she will look back at these images proudly and always have them to return to when she wants to remember this chapter.
